In a conventional crossword, you choose letters. Here the letters arrive in shaped pieces, so identifying an answer is only half the problem: its piece must also leave room for the intersecting words. Normal keeps orientations fixed, while Hard and Ultra add rotation. There is no timer, and progress stays in the same browser rather than following an account.
